What are the qualifying medical conditions for Maryland medical marijuana?
If the patient has a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition that causes: cachexia, anorexia, wasting syndrome, severe or chronic pain, severe nausea, seizures, severe or persistent muscle spasms, glaucoma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or another chronic medical condition which is severe and for which other treatments have been ineffective.
Where can I buy medical cannabis in Maryland?

How much medical marijuana can I buy today?
The certification issued by a provider for a patient identifies the amount of dried flower and THC that the patient may purchase in a 30-day period. The limit is calculated as a ROLLING 30-day limit- not by calendar month.
How can I obtain a medical marijuana card?
A patient can order an ID card by logging into their account through the MMCC website however, a patient may only order an ID card after their patient application has been approved and they have received certification from a registered provider.
Where can I legally travel with my Maryland medical marijuana?
A legal patient may travel to any location in the state of Maryland (other than federal government property when in possession of medical cannabis). Possession of cannabis is a violation of federal law and Maryland residents should carefully read the current state statutes regarding the use of medical cannabis and be aware that taking cannabis across State lines is a federal offense. Cannabis is also illegal on federal government property. The State of Maryland laws cannot authorize you to travel to other states, jurisdictions or countries with this medicine in your possession.
How do I get a medical marijuana card certification?
A patient needs to visit with a registered provider with whom the patient has a “bona fide provider-patient relationship”. If the patient meets the provider’s criteria for treatment with medical cannabis, the provider will issue a certification.
What do I do after I get the Maryland medical marijuana card online?
The patient may go to any licensed dispensary to pick up medical cannabis.
How long will it take to receive a medical marijuana card certification?
After the medical cannabis provider has examined the patient and the patient’s records, the provider may issue the patient a certification immediately.
Does the medical marijuana patient need to be registered with MMCC before the provider visit in order to obtain a medical marijuana card certification?
No, most patients will complete the risk free evaluation prior to registering with the MMCC OneStop program.
How much is the Maryland medical marijuana card application fee?
The MMCC OneStop application fee is $25. This is paid directly to the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission.
When does my Maryland medical marijuana card expire?
Effective March 1, 2019, all existing patients may (1) renew their application and purchase a patient MMCC ID card for $25, which will expire 3 years from the issue date or (2) order an MMCC ID card for a $25 fee, which will expire on the patient’s existing registration expiration date;
How do I renew my Maryland medical marijuana card online?
To renew your registration, log into your existing MMCC account and click on the Renew Registration tab. You will be prompted to answer a number of questions. If your address has changed, you must update your address and you will be required to upload a current Proof of Maryland Address. Once the Commission has your renewal application, they will review it and notify you via email of approval.
How long until I receive my MMCC medical marijuana card?
Due to the anticipated high volume of MMCC ID card orders and registration renewals, the MMCC is unable to guarantee a delivery date for the card. However, a temporary ID will be emailed once a new patient has been certified, or an existing patient with a valid provider certification orders a card or renews their registration. This temporary ID will be valid for a period of 90days. Each patient will have the option to print the temporary card when logging into your MMCC account.
How long until I receive my MMCC patient ID number?
After you successfully complete the MMCC OneStop registration process, the MMCC OneStop program typically takes between 2-3 weeks to review and approve your application.
Once they complete the review of your MMCC OneStop account, the department will email you a 16 digit MMCC ID number.
What is a 16 digit MMCC OneStop patient ID number?
The 16 digit MMCC OneStop patient ID number is used for two main purposes:
- The MMCC doctor will require this MMCC Patient ID number in order to find you in the MMCC system. Once the Maryland MMCC doctor approves you for a Maryland medical marijuana card, the MMCC doctor will search for your patient account in the MMCC system and submit the certification to your MMCC account.
- The MMCC ID number is used so that the dispensary you visit can review your patient account and see how much Maryland medical marijuana you are able to purchase. Since Maryland MMCC marijuana card holders are certified specific monthly limits, the dispensary will have to be able to view how much you are able to purchase so you can stay within your monthly allotments.

It is simple! The MMCC medical marijuana doctor will submit the certification to your MMCC OneStop account and you will be able to check your MMCC monthly allotment by signing into your MMCC OneStop account, click on the MMCC ID number, and view how much is left in the monthly supply you were certified.
